Transforming our goals into results
The beginning of a year is the perfect time to set new goals. How many of us start a year with the same goals we didn’t achieve the year before? How many of us feel like we are sleepwalking through life without any idea of what we really want? In other cases, we may know exactly what we want to achieve, but we have no idea how to get there?
Why we fail to achieve goals and how to fix it
1. Set goals that are not important for our lives: A goal should have a purpose behind it to help make it relevant. Always check: is this what I really want to achieve? Is this something important for my life?
2. Lack of a destination: If we don’t know this clearly, then we’ll never know which road to take to achieve our goal. A good tip to fix this is to set ‘SMART’ goals: Specific, Measurable, Agreed, Realistic, and Timed.
3. Lack of a real plan: Once we know what we want to achieve, let’s take consistent actions. A good tip is to break the final goal into small steps – actions. Taking steps every day will help us reach our goals. Don’t forget to celebrate the small achievements!
4. Fear of failure: Sometimes our fears and beliefs sabotage us from taking risks and actions. Let’s replace any attempt at sabotage with positive and inspirational energy. Visualize how good and exciting our life will be once we achieve our goal!
