It’s International Women's Day today!
Here’s wishing all you ladies a wonderful day, and lots of strength and love!
Today is a day to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about gender equality, and to work towards creating an equal future for everyone regardless of their gender.
This year, IWD is specially targeted towards highlighting the challenges the Covid-19 pandemic has brought.
Over the past year, women have been on the forefront of the battle against the pandemic- as doctors, nurses, scientists, caregivers, essential workers. Women have also been at the helm of movements for diversity and inclusivity in bringing about social change- both online and in the streets.
Whether it is speaking out against climate change, or advocating for women’s rights, women have found their voice and are coming forth to share their strength and stories.
Although there is still a long way to go in achieving equal rights and making the world more inclusive, we are headed in the right direction with strength and wisdom. We should aspire to think globally and act locally to affect positive change.
Here in Eindhoven, Centro Latinoamericano de Orientación is organising International Women’s Week to celebrate female leadership in challenging times! They have amazing online events and workshops scheduled, so be sure to partake in the wonderful events. And, don’t forget to celebrate with some cake today!
