Autumn potpourri brew
It’s that time of the year again! The leaves are turning bright shades of red and golden, and there’s a slight nip in the air. Autumn is such a wonderful season that shows us how beautiful nature truly is.
How about a nice potpourri recipe to make your home smell amazing and bring the autumnal vibes inside?
Although potpourri is traditionally made with dried flower petals and spices, this brew adds a fun culinary twist to it.
For this potpourri recipe, cut up an apple, two mini oranges, and a lemon, and add them to a pan. You can even use the peels, so don’t throw them away! To this mixture, add four to five cloves, two or three star anise, and two cinnamon sticks.
Please note that you can vary the recipe according to the smells you prefer, so it is completely customisable. It is also a good way to use up the fruits which may be over ripe.
Fill the pan with some water, and simmer it for a while. Just keep a check that the water does not get too low. Your home will smell amazing for a few hours!
This simple recipe will surely bring a smile to your face, not to mention how pretty it will look on your Instagram! So put this brew on the stove, put your favourite movie on Netflix, and enjoy the cosy weather!
