Due to COVID-19, there are very limited options to travel during the summer holiday. Dan Kieran, author of The Idle Traveller: The Art of Slow Travel, thinks that local staycations will be the future of tourism and travel at least for the next year or two, as people emerge from the pandemic more cautious and hesitant to fly to far-off destinations.

Many people will, for sure, stay home during the summer that’s why we have prepared 5 creative ideas t instantly boost your outdoor space.

1. Give your backyard a new look with a pop of color.

Use white or blue colors for a Mediterranean vibe. You can add cushions in these tones or add accents by painting an old chair or some planters. If you prefer a Caribbean look, choose bright tones and tropical vegetation. You can also great to combine curtains and veils that move with the wind.

 

2. Lightning.

Fairy lights in the garden help to add ambiance, extra points if the lights reflect on the floor. Get crafty and make Citronella candles. These are perfect for lighting up your garden area. Not only they give off a lovely glow, but they also help to keep away mosquitos. You can reuse empty tin cans or glass jars.

3. Add a chilling hammock!

4. Create a minibar.

Organize a small corner where you can have your favorite cold drinks. Repurpose an old cabinet or table, you can paint it in the colors from tip #1 and get ready. 5. What is summer without a swimming pool?

Get a small swimming pool with a filter and cover for around 60 euro. The beauty of these, besides the price, is you can take them down in winter, and they don’t require huge amounts of water. Perfect for the warmer sunny days!
