The Dutch are known to be tall people, but how tall are they really when we compare them to some of the international groups in the Netherlands?

When looking up the number of internationals and their background online, most articles mention internationals from England, Germany, Poland and India. So let’s find out what the average height is for these countries as well as some others.

The Dutch being a tall group of people is definitely not a myth, their average height is

male: 180,8 cm                                             female: 167,5

The average height in Poland isn’t that far off with these measurements

male: 178,7 cm                                             female: 165,1

India is the first on the list to be a little on the shorter side, but keep in mind this is an overall average and the average heights throughout the country vary immensely per region

male: 164,7 cm                                             female: 152,6

The Germans are right up there with the Dutch

male: 178 cm                                                female: 165 cm

Our international friends from Colombia are stuck in the middle

male: 170,6                                                   female: 158,7

The people of England are a little shorter than most Western Europeans

male: 175,3                                                   female: 161,9

Indonesian internationals are the cute and tiny ones of the group

male: 158 cm                                                female: 147 cm

The difference between men and woman is largest within the group of Romanian internationals

male: 172 cm                                                female: 157 cm

As you can see there is a lot variety between different ethnic groups, when it comes to heights. Are there any other remarkable differences between differents international groups you would like to see an article about? Email me at stephania@howdomagazine.com
