Finally!! After a long wait, the terraces reopened throughout the Netherlands today at 12.00 hrs.

Café De Rozenknop

In Eindhoven city center, in some places people were queuing for a table in the sun: in no time the terraces were full. Most restaurants and bars work with time slots, to give as many people as possible the opportunity to grab a beer again after a very long time.

According to Niek van de Klundert, owner of De Rozenknop: “For today all our tables have been booked, of course the weather is helping with that. For the upcoming days we still have a number of empty spaces, but we expect a lot of our regular customers to visit us at the weekend.”

Although the curfew has been lifted since 04:30 last Wednesday morning, the terraces must close again at 6:00 pm. Hopefully, the guests cooperate with the café owners such as Niek: “Let's stick to the rules, and not provoke, this will bring us a lot closer to a fully opened bar and restaurants. And that is what we’re all looking for.”
