Wonka Podia organize first Wonka Theater Experience for children from the region
On Thursday March 10, Wonka Podia - a collaboration of six venues from the Brainport region - are organizing the first Wonka Theater Experience for children. An accessible and complete theater afternoon, including transportation to and from the theater. After a festive reception in the Park Theatre in Eindhoven, the children (aged 10-12) experience the exciting dance and music performance Zinderella.
Every child to the theater
Wonka Podia's mission is to make theater as accessible as possible for everyone. Children have special attention, because they are the visitors of the future. Wonka Podia grants every child culture and the experience of going to the theater. Because it teaches them something about themselves, confronts them, moves them, gives them oxygen for the (small) mind.
Structural connection
In cooperation with the local culture coaches and other cultural partners from the (Brainport) region, the Wonka Podia want to look at how they can establish a more structural connection between the performing arts and children. Later, for example with youth theater days, an exclusive regional performance for schools and for now this extracurricular offer. Everything to establish a structural connection with this target group and to make them see what theater does and can do to you. By watching it. Or by participating, of course.
Zinderella
With the dance and music performance Zinderella by NITE+ & Maas Theatre and Dance, they offer children a fantastic experience, which is thematically perfectly suited to their age. About daring to be yourself, daring to look in the mirror. In which dance, music and theater teach how.
Transportation
Accompanied by theater staff, elementary school children (age 10 to 12 years) travel by bus from a pick-up point in the region to the Park Theater. There are 4 pick-up points: Basisschool de Regenboog in Bergeijk, Zwembad de Wedert in Valkenswaard, Theater de Schalm in Veldhoven and De Cacaofabriek in Helmond.
About Wonka Podia
Wonka Podia is an intensive collaboration of six venues in the Brainport region: De Cacaofabriek & Het Speelhuis in Helmond, Parktheater Eindhoven, Theater de Schalm Veldhoven, Theater de Hofnar Valkenswaard and Theater de Kattendans Bergeijk.
They find each other in overarching themes such as inclusiveness, internationalization and education. By working together, they create more impact and can mean more for the Brainport region; our working area.
Wonka Podia is also one of the Regional Deals of Brainport Development.
