Super Dutch foods and how to make them!
So if you have been living in the Netherlands you probably already tried Dutch junk food. I mean have you tried “frietje saté saus”? That stuff is awesome, but you should definitely try some of our homefoods as well! Here are some dishes that are easy to make, tasty and healthy!

Hutspot Dutch carrot/potatoe mash
This dish is basically mashed potatoes with carrots and onions. It’s super yummy and has a lot of vitamins. Every Dutch person will think of their grandmother eating this.

Dutch pea soup called erwtensoep or snert
This soup is great for colder days, it’s filled with peas, potatoes, and juicy pork. It’s very filling so it really is a meal on it’s own.

Dutch pancakes: pannenkoeken
These pancakes are a little thicker than crepes, but thinner than American pancakes. You can add sweet or savory toppings when you make them, like apple or bacon.
Commonly people will eat them powdered sugar or syrup.

Dutch people love their mashed dishes. This particular meal is made of mashed potatoes with sauerkraut/fermented cabbage. It’s very healthy for your tummy, and light on the stomach.
