STE Languages signs a collaboration agreement with the SALTO school foundation
SALTO and STE Languages have entered into a partnership whereby STE will provide English training courses for the SALTO schools teachers. The language courses are aimed at raising language levels and workshops will be given on topics such as "parent-teacher meetings in English". English is becoming increasingly important in primary education due to the internationalization of Eindhoven and the surrounding area (Brainport Eindhoven Region). The collaboration also includes an exploration of the provision of Dutch (NT2) language training and language sessions for parents at the international locations RISE and I-Start, which fall under SALTO.
SALTO wants to take a leading role in the development of an international learning and living community in the Brainport region. For STE Languages, the collaboration is in line with its ambition of having an important role as language provider for teachers and parents in primary education.
SALTO is specifically focusing on the setting up of internationalization programs for children of internationals but also for children of Dutch parents (international profiling of mainstream education). SALTO expects its teachers to be able to teach English as a subject to all groups (1 to 8) and to have parent-teacher meetings in the English language. STE can help teachers further improve and develop their language level and skills, so that they can confidently use the English language in daily practice. A win-win situation for all parties!
SALTO is a school foundation with 20 primary schools, with two schools for special needs primary education and an international department at two locations in the Eindhoven region. Its mission is to be a learning organization that inspires people within personal development through intensive collaboration with others. SALTO stands for Together, Active, Learning, Talents, Development.
