Flower Parade Valkenswaard:
if the dahlia’s can’t come to you, why don’t you visit them?

This year no flower parade trucks, admired by thousands of spectators. The organizing committee of the Flower Parade Valkenswaard had to decide to cancel the parade for the second year in a row. But they came up with a great alternative: a walking tour through the town centre where 18 dahlia objects are shown.

This can be done individually, but NXP, the High Tech Campus based company offered their employees a guided tour. Starting with coffee and pastry at The Hofnar theatre, finishing with a drink at Du Commerce : the people of NXP were well taken care of. In between, a 2 hour walk to visit the 18 flower art works in the centre of Valkenswaard. During the walk, local guide André Stevens and Fabiola Ordonēz commented on the colorful decorations. André in Dutch, Fabiola in English.

For Fabiola, it was her first visit to the flower parade and she definitely will be back next year for the "real" parade. "It was great to see all the creations, and the people I accompanied were very interested in our explanation. I’m looking forward to visiting next year’s edition, which will have a special grandstand for internationals.”
