English services in the library during Covid
Even though Eindhoven Library is closed for activities and studying, we are open for picking up reservations and returning materials. We also offer English surprise bags, programmable robots for children, the app BorrowBox and an online Language Café.
You can reserve your books and materials through our website. We have an extensive English collection, for youth and adults. You can only reserve books available in the Witte Dame. As long as the library is closed, you can reserve materials for free. We will prepare the materials and you can then come and pick them up yourself. We will send you a message as soon as it is ready for you. The reservation will be held for up to 10 days after receiving the email.
When you are picking up your books, you can also take an English (or Dutch) surprise bag with you! This bag is filled with 5 surprising books, chosen by our knowledgeable staff.
Beebot and Qobo
You can also borrow special programmable robots suitable for young children, the BeeBot and the snail Qobo. By using these robots, children will learn about programming in a playful way. The bags contain fun and educational books and play cards. The explanation sheet is in English, the cards and the books are in Dutch. Ask one of our employees about it or send an email to email@example.com.
With BorrowBox, you have your library available in one app. You can borrow the best English eBooks and eAudiobooks for free. Become a member of Eindhoven Library, install the BorrowBox app and activate it with your library membership.
Online Language Café
For anyone who wants to practice speaking the Dutch language, a weekly online Language Café takes place. Due to popular demand, we do have a long waiting list at the moment. You can fill in this form and you will be placed on our waiting list. When a spot opens up, we will inform you about your participation and further steps you have to take.
