‘’Allerheiligen’’ is a national day. It's a Chistian holiday. On this day they commemorate all those who have strongly committed themselves to the Christian faith. They set a good example and performed miracles. That's why commemorating these people is important. ‘’Allerheiligen’’ is always celebrated the day after Halloween.

Many of the saints already have their own day, like St Martin.  During ‘’allerheiligen’’ they commemorate all saints. During ‘’Allerheiligen’’ families get together and usually visit the grandparents to catch up and eat with them all

For Christians it is very important to commemorate the dead, for them someone who dies is dead but certainly not gone. ‘’Allerzielen’’ is another holy day that is also about commemorating. During ‘’Allerzielen’’ they commemorate all the deceased. ‘’Allerheiligen’’ is celebrated in Andorra, Belgium, France, Hungary, Italy, Croatia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Austria, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and parts of Germany and Switzerland.
